The doldrums of an empty house after her brothers have gone to school, the dull parties where everyone thinks she talks too much, and the fact that her parents have decided to send her away to Ireland as a governess-it all makes her wish things could be different. Wendy’s only real escape is in writing down tales of Never Land. Sixteen-year-old Wendy Darling’s life is not what she imagined it would be. What if Wendy first traveled to Neverland. Straight on till Morning : A Twisted Tale Synopsis And then of course Captain Hook is as black-hearted as always and dare we say difficult as ever to defeat! An exciting tale for any Neverland fan, complete with pirates, Nana and secret hideouts.

So many of the adventures take places in the jungle, with the lost boys. We also loved the inside glimpse to special places in Neverland we had only before seen on the map. Peter Pan fans will be happy to see her step easily into this role. As typical of any governess, she is able, and capable of making a difference and rallying the troops to save the island. While as a character she always spoke her mind, Wendy really comes into her own as a character.

What we loved about this book is that heroine role that Wendy takes on in the story.

With Wendy as a governess, finding her own way, and Tink making mischief, it will be up to these two to save Neverland from Captain Hook. As with all the books in the A Twisted Tale series these novels take a story we all know, like Peter Pan, and mixes things up a bit.
